CANCELLED FOSS CURRY AND QUIZ NIGHT 2ND MARCH

Friends of Strathmore School (FOSS) is a registered charity supporting the learners, families and school community of Strathmore School, a happy, thriving and growing special school for children and young people aged 4 -19 with severe and complex learning difficulties including those with an additional diagnosis of autism and/or physical/sensory disabilities in the Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

FOSS exists to foster a feeling of ‘community’ amongst the parents and school through its social events and fundraising whilst at the same time raising much-needed funds for specialist equipment and resources to support our pupils with the challenges they face daily. We strive to challenge perceptions and to create better acceptance and inclusion for people living with neurodivergence and physical adversities. All parents, carers, staff and learners of Strathmore School are automatically members of FOSS.

Our mission is to develop more extended relationships between parents, staff and others; engage in activities which support the school and advance the education of the learners; and provide and assist in the provision of educational facilities or items not provided from statutory funds. These items are selected by the committee in consultation with members of the Senior Leadership Team and staff.

FOSS proceeds are currently spent in a number of ways which include the provision of experiences and activities for the learners enabling them to interact in specialist workshops; specialist therapies; educational visits and a variety of additional opportunities in the wider community including work experience. In addition, FOSS supports the purchase of specialist therapy equipment, indoor and outdoor resources; classroom and sensory equipment, accessible transport and much more.
